How to set up and manage your MFA for EDGE Pipeline 



Objective

This SOP outlines the steps to set up a secure login, also known as multi-factor authentication (MFA), in EDGE Pipeline to access Pipeline Dealer Services, which protects users and businesses by preventing unauthorized access to sensitive information and safeguarding digital identity. 


Key Steps

Step 1: Navigate to Post-Sale Services 0:09

  • Log in to EDGE Pipeline. 

  • Click on ‘My Purchases' in the menu, then on 'Post-Sale Services’.

Step 2: Configure Secure Login 0:15

  • From the ‘Secure Login Required’ page, click on ‘Configure’.

  • Enter a name for your authentication method and click ‘Add’.

  • Choose a passkey option. To set up a biometric option on a mobile device, select ‘This device’; on a desktop, select the type of phone from the list. 

Step 3: Confirm Your Account 0:33

  • After setting up the login method, go to your email and open the ‘Activate email’ message that was just delivered from EDGE Pipeline.

  • Within the email message, click ‘Confirm My Email’

  • You’ll be redirected back to the ‘Secure Login Setup’ page on EDGE Pipeline.

  • Click ‘Back to Pipeline’.

Step 4: Securely Log In to Post-Sale Services 0:39

  • Click on ‘My Purchases' in the menu, then on 'Post-Sale Services’.

  • You’re now securely logged in to Post-Sale Services.

Step 5: Manage Your Multi-Factor Settings 1:33

  • From your profile menu, select ‘Account Preferences’. 

  • Select ‘Manage Multi-Factor Authentication’. 

  • From here, you can add/delete your Saved Authenticators. 


Cautionary Notes

  • Ensure that you are selecting the correct authentication method to avoid errors in the setup process.

  • If you delete the only existing authenticator, the next time you access Post-Sale Services, you’ll have to set up a new authenticator and perform email authentication from scratch.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Have your mobile device at hand when setting up secure login from a desktop if you want to use face or fingerprint verification as your authenticator.
